Solar & Off-Grid |
Is Solar Still Worth It?
With changes in federal and state programs, you might be asking this question. Is solar still a good investment? There is still a federal tax credit available, and systems installed in WA state at this time are sales tax free. Beyond that, it may depend more upon your reasons for desiring solar. In our solar design, that's one of the most important questions...why do you want solar? From there, we can design a system that will be totally worth it to you, and hopefully save you some money too! We design and install a wide variety of solar projects in Ellensburg, Kittitas, Yakima, the surrounding areas and beyond. These projects include roof mount and ground mount solar systems, net zero homes, off-grid cabins, and water pumping stations. One of our relatively new offerings is the Generac PWRcell, which is a slim battery cabinet, allowing backup power from your solar panels to your home, such as delivering power at night from energy stored during the day, when the electrical grid is down or during peak power times when rates are more expensive for some utilities. Wray Electric has been installing solar power systems since 2004, and we have installed over a Mega Watt of clean power production in the Central Washington area to date! |
Process1. Preliminary Report

2. Site Visit
On-site meeting to determine best location for solar, complete shade analysis, and to answer your questions.
3. Proposal
Provide clear contract detailing system specifications, cost and payment terms.
4. Installation
Complete installation including all work on site, submitting applications, obtaining permits, and system start-up and walk-through.

Battery Backup SolarWe are a certified installer of the Generac PWR Cell System, the long awaited seamless solution for grid-tied residences to have solar with battery backup power. The PWR Cell system includes an inverter and a lithium-ion battery bank that can provide 17.1kwh of battery storage. A PWR Cell system would provide backup power to selected circuits in the event of a power outage. For grid tied applications, this system allows homeowners to further reduce power bills by selling excess solar power once the batteries are charged, as well as strictly using battery storage when you would have otherwise been pulling from the grid.

Off-Grid SolarWe specialize in designing and installing solar PV systems that provide power to backwoods cabins, off-grid houses, and other properties where utility power is not possible or would be highly expensive. Along with the solar panels, we offer the option of battery backup, or generator backup, to provide you with power even when the sun is not shining. The panels soak up the sun during the day and store the energy in the batteries for use when you need it. Tell us your goals, and we will design something for you!

The Cost of Doing Nothing
Let's face it, utility power rates are rising. Many people pay these increasing bills without realizing that they could invest these funds into something that makes more economical sense. Take your monthly electric bill, add the average annual increase of 3% and see what you will be paying long term for energy your home could be producing on its own. Many of our customers simply pay a low single digit fee for the meter on their home. Once the system has paid for itself, you will be able to reallocate these funds you would be otherwise paying to your utility into something you see true value in. The sun transmits enough energy in one hour to power earth's entire electrical consumption for one year. It is time we start to harness this energy.
